Most people dread public speaking, but some people just love it. The Marian College Speech Team competes at forensic tournaments against schools from across the country.
Team Meetings are Mondays at 4:30 p.m. in Fisher Hall 4.
Who We Are
The team includes 10-15 students from a variety of majors. They travel to 4-5 regional tournaments each semester, plus a week-long trip to the National Forensic Association’s Individual Events Tournament in April. At tournaments, students compete in a variety of events such as events such as impromptu speaking, persuasive speaking, and dramatic interpretation.
Faith-based Forensics
Marian College is only Catholic college in Indiana with an active speech team. The team’s faith-based approach to forensics emphasizes self-expression, community-building, and horizon-broadening as paths to spiritual maturity across a diversity of religious traditions.
