“As I retrace my professional and personal path to the present, I can see the clear imprint of my undergraduate years in shaping the path and providing a vision of my future endeavors, and I am thankful for the roles so many members of the Marian University community have played in opening such a wealth of opportunities.”

Hesler’s academic experience was not limited to just his major. The range of academic disciplines he studied and the unique perspectives that his professors brought to the table enabled him to expand his critical thinking and analytical skills. Hesler’s experiences were not all tied to academia. “The clinical knowledge has been valuable, without question, but the set of relationships I established during my four years at Marian University has been absolutely irreplaceable.” Upon graduation in 2004, Hesler studied at the Indiana University School of Law and received his juris doctorate in 2007. In 2012, Hesler received his master of education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. While at Harvard, he received a Zuckerman Fellowship, a program that helps people in medicine, law, and business. Selection is based on demonstrated academic and leadership potential and a commitment to public service.

When selecting a college, Tim Hesler focused on the Indianapolis area. Throughout the application process, he was thoroughly impressed with how the Marian University faculty and staff went out of their way to make him a priority. “Marian University’s personalized approach truly distinguished it from other schools, both during the admissions cycle and over the course of my four years on campus.”

Tim is currently working for the Jia Yuan Law Firm and is teaching English to rising sophomores at Tsinghua University, both in Beijing, China.
